Ladidi Is Raising Seven Children Alone Now

September 22, 2026

Ladidi Sunday lost her husband, Sunday Musa, in an attack on their home in Unguwan Gamo, a farming community in Kajuru. It happened fast, in the middle of the night, and it ended with Ladidi facing the rest of her life without him.

What she’s facing now is the harder story: seven children, including two sets of twins. Miracle and Marvellous are four months old. Paul and Peter are six. There is no version of raising seven children that isn’t hard. Doing it suddenly, alone, in the same week you buried your husband, is something else entirely.

Equipping the Persecuted reached Ladidi with cash assistance, bags of rice, and diapers for the infant twins — the unglamorous, unavoidable necessities of keeping a household of nine fed and clothed when the person who shared that weight is gone. It’s not a solution. It’s a foundation to stand on while she figures out what comes next.

Ladidi’s family is one of several in Kajuru that ETP has walked alongside this year. Her story is a reminder of what “recovery” actually looks like for most families — not a single dramatic rescue, but the slow, daily work of holding a family together, one meal, one diaper, one morning at a time.
