They’re Still Healing, Still Waiting, Still Held

September 22, 2026

Ladidi’s isn’t the only family Equipping the Persecuted has supported this year in Kajuru Local Government Area. Three more stories, from the same community, show what recovery looks like when it’s still in progress.

Dr. Anthony Bulus survived an attack on Tsapta Village that left him badly injured. He was hospitalized and has since received support from ETP toward his medical treatment and recovery. Today, he’s healing — a quiet, ongoing process that rarely makes headlines but matters just as much as the moment of rescue.

Rahila Bibi is still waiting. When gunmen came to her home in Angwan Tsapta looking for her husband, they took Rahila and her three daughters — ages 11, nine, and four — into the bush. When she could no longer walk, they beat her and left her behind, and took the girls with them. One daughter has since come home; her family says the other two are still being held. ETP covered Rahila’s medical treatment. Her story isn’t finished — she’s a mother holding onto hope for her daughters’ safe return, and continuing to receive support in the meantime.

Anthonia Sadeek was seven months pregnant when she was taken from Gamo village, and she gave birth while in captivity under circumstances no mother should have to face. Since her release, ETP has covered her medical bills and provided food as she rebuilds her life with her surviving daughter. Her strength, in the face of a loss most people can’t imagine, is its own kind of testimony.

Three different families. Three different points in a long recovery. One consistent thread: none of them are facing it without support.
